The Vidaai is a post wedding ceremony, which takes place after the completion of religious wedding ritual.  The groom arrives at bride’s home along with his family and all guests. During the Vidaai ceremony the bride is accompanied by her parents, friends and brother who lead her outside the doorstep of the house. The bride is carried out by her brother. This is a very sweet ritual where the bride's brother gets his turn to shine. It is very touching to watch as the brother lifts his sister and carries her from the room. Before crossing the doorstep, she throws back three handfuls of rice and coins over her head, into the house. This ritual symbolizes that the bride is repaying her parents for all that they have given her so far. It is time to bid farewell to the bride and groom amid happy tears and well wishes
